1950s nostalgia
Upton United (later Upton Athletic) in c1957/8 prior to their away match with
DeHavilland which Upton won 9-3. DeHavilland's ground is now of course known
as British Aerospace.

Upton's home ground was the field opposite the Zoo field off Caughill Road
where the annual Lions Bonfire used to be held. They had no changing rooms so had to
use cars and hedges.It was not unusual for power lines to serve as ball deflectors.
