The Bachev shops were built by Capstick & Owen around 1936 - understood to have been 4 shops initially -
from Upton Drive corner -
- Grocers - Stears
- Chemists - Gittins
- Greengrocers - Chesterman - later Allmans
- Baker/Confectioner -
The last shop - which was a post office for a long time came later - presumably after the demise
of Miss Nickson's P.O.
